I’m Bill Gates...Ask Me Anything!

What happened when the Microsoft founder returned to Reddit for his third AMA

Bill Gates, the billionaire founder of Microsoft and leading philanthropist, recently waded into the community website Reddit.com, “the front page of the Internet.” Why? For its "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) series, a round of no-holds-barred Q&A with the site’s users.
"I’m happy to talk about anything," he wrote to the Reddit community. "Philanthropy, technology, what it’s like to drink water made from human waste... (Short answer: Just like drinking any other kind of water, except that people get a little freaked out by the whole idea.)"
And the people started asking questions, the conversations started flowing.
Here are the exchanges that led to our favorite insights:
kingoftheanthill: Is there anything in life that you regret doing or not doing?
thisisbillgates: I feel pretty stupid that I don’t know any foreign languages. I took Latin and Greek in high school and got A’s, and I guess it helps my vocabulary, but I wish I knew French or Arabic or Chinese. I  keep hoping to get time to study one of these—probably French because it is the easiest.
rowmac89: What is a life lesson you learned the hard way?
thisisbillgates: Don’t stay up too late, even if the book [you're reading] is really exciting. You will regret it in the morning. I am still working on this problem.
clockwork_jesus: Dry rub or sauce on your [barbecue]?
thisisbillgates: Sauce. Lots of sauce. I always spill a bit, so I avoid BBQ before TV appearances.
